Essence.com interviewed LisaRaye McCoy-Misick regarding her now failed marriage. From the moment I heard she was marrying this man, Michael Misick, naturally it made me wonder-is she really marrying this man for love? I've concluded perhaps she did love...power, money, title, perks....but him? Maybe not so much... I mean she said herself that she was attracted to the power he has...and the perks it would entitle her.ESSENCE.COM: Many balked at your whirlwind romance and marriage and accused you of being an opportunist. How do you feel about that assessment of your character?
LISARAYE: First of all, I'm a fan of love and partnership. I would say this to my critics: If a man comes to you there obviously has to be a connection. I had a man who's smart and powerful and who I fell in love with. He's embracing my family. Add the fact that I have an opportunity to bring tourism to his country and be involved in something historical. Who in the hell would say no? But what scared me was the idea of being First Lady?I mean who thinks when they (presumably) "fall in love" with the Premier of an island "...I have an opportunity to bring tourism to his country?" Really? Wow...(insert eye roll). She goes on to further state that she had no idea what was expected of her as The First Lady. Understandably, one wouldn't unless one was born into a setting that prepared for that type of role- HOWEVER (yes I broke out the mighty CAPS) as an actress you would figure she would "study" and "prepare" for her role, no? I mean it just seems obvious to me. She made sure she researched how much she was getting paid and made sure she was in ads for tourism...she couldn't put the same effort into preparing herself as First Lady?
When asked why she chose to speak out about the situation, I would have figured she would have not even done an interview-especially since she was very low key, so low key after the little fenzy, I actually forgot all about her...and maybe that's what the problem was. People forgot about her. I know I did. But what bothered me the MOST about this interview, was the mere fact she says she still loves him in her own way (of sorts) but uses this interview not only to air him out but to make it appear as if she really had NO clue to what was going on. I mean, she grew up with a business savvy father and I would hope she learned something from the man...know your business....
Mrs. Misick I'm sure is very far from stupid. Yes, her husband may have a few faults and issues as anyone else. But I think this interview was low. It was used as a platform to try and "clean up" any blemishes that may surface later...if she wanted to keep it classy she should've just kept a low profile from jump and leave people wondering. Now she's touched off a firestorm of speculation and increased SEOD's toward her-sometimes interviews are just best left undone.
Beauty vs. Family
Now I have a serious issue with this situation. Tameka Foster-Raymond JUST gave birth to Usher's child and is knifing herself up overseas for the sake of beauty? What happened to the responsibly of being a mother and wife first? In the words of my blog neighbor Kriss of Insanity Report, "I mean....he married her when she was old and ugly...She really didn't need the plastic surgery now." (insert laughter) (Shouts out to Kriss...lol) Now he was very blunt in his statement- she's not a bad looking woman. But I think the point he was trying to make was Usher obviously loved her for who she was and what she looked like. We live in a society where beauty reigns supreme, but to leave your children, especially a newborn behind at the expense and sake of beauty disgusts me. I'm relieved that she's recovering and doing well. It's sad to know that beauty takes precedence over your well-being, life and family.Rihanna and Chris-When Speculation bounces from "Wall to Wall"
THIS WILL BE THE ONLY TIME I POST ABOUT THIS SITUATION
These two are the epitome of a powerhouse couple. Rihanna, the sexy and beautiful bombshell and Chris, the cutie with boundless energy and charisma. Their relationship prior to this incident, was certainly envious and devilishly romantic. We couldn't get enough of the cute couple. No sooner than the reports came out about this incident the media turned on Chris Brown. He was no longer the handsome young talented singer-he was a monster. The reports are varied and inconclusive, yet Chris was rung out and hung to dry-being stripped of his endorsements without hesitation. He's been labeled "done" as far as his career is concerned. What happened to getting all the facts first before handing down judgment? Who knows what happened in that car? It could be a million-and-one different scenarios that went down. I feel bad for both Chris and Rihanna. So young and vibrant-and have to deal with this fickle world. They love you one day and hate you the moment you are suddenly "human." We're all guilty of opinion. But to label Chris guilty and look down upon him without so much of a statement from him or Rihanna is just wrong ESPECIALLY since the media still hasn't gotten their story straight. This doesn't take away from his talent. Rihanna not pressing charges (supposedly) doesn't make her stupid....it just confirms that we will sentence anyone harshly and anything without so much of an ounce of evidence or truth. And until one of them come forward to set the story straight-let's stop with the speculations and get with the FACTS.

3 People Drinking:
Well, in my personal opinion, I feel that what Chris Brown did was unacceptable, no matter what took place in the car. Unless, Rihanna had a gun or a knife on him, she did not to deserve to be beaten like a man by Chris Brown. I mean even if she did see a text message from another chick or whatever, on his phone and threw the phone at him, he still didn't have to whoop up on her like that. That was uncalled for. I wouldn't have blamed him if he had just stopped the car and put her out and made her walk back to whereever she was staying at the time.
And in recent months, from the looks of different interviews, Chris Brown has become an arrogant azz since he has an abundant amount of chicken heads running behind him . I think that this was just a part of his "big head" that got the best of him. And I will bet $$ that this is not the first time that he has put his hands on this girl. He probably wasn't expecting her to press charges on his azz this time. He took it too dayum far and he is suffering the consequences behind his actions, with his endorsements being snatched away from him.
And another thing, why is his family members jumping on these radio shows giving their statements? Were they there? Hell to the no!I wonder why Chris Brown hadn't released a statement to his fans. He doesn't have to go into details. And if it's not as bad as everyone says that it is, he should let his people know.
The LAPD police report says that Robyn "Rihanna" Fenty suffered two contusions to the forehead, a busted lip, and a bloody nose. And it must have been serious since she was treated at Cedars-Sanai hospital.
It's not right and it's unacceptable that he would do that to someone he was supposed to have a relationship with. And I get majorly pissed off when I read some of these comments from females saying that Rihanna must have provoked him to beat her like that. Nine times out of ten those are the same bytches who are getting used as punching bags at home by their men. How are you gonna sit up there and say some mess like that?
I just feel like domestic abuse is to not be tolerated by anyone. And I hope and pray that Rih Rih doesn't go back to him after this mess is over and done.
Well well well... that's for the three topics you covered in the article. First things first, Lisa Raye... she is an opportunist. She thought it looked good and sounded good and turns out it wasn't all that she thought it would be. I haven't read the article in Essence but just remembering some interviews that she had when they first got married, she did say that she was attracted to his power. This man had his own island, he had money far greater than she had ever seen and just weeks into their courting he said to her " I don't wanna date you anymore, I want you to be my wife!" As romantic that may sound, realistically she should've thought twice before she took him up on his offer. But instead you was an opportunist and saw the money the power and the respect that she would then have and ran with it til the wheels fell off. And apparently they have... I'm with you, she wasn't allowed to keep up her presence in the States and maintain her position as First Lady and ran off. And I don't know how their marriage was done, whether pre-nup or not, maybe she thought she'd get broken off some dinero!
Tameka Raymond, SMDH, when I first heard about her going overseas to get her surgery done I couldn't understand it. I mean I get the whole thing, she has to keep up to be Usher's wife, there are standards in Hollywood. But why not go to LA? Why take a chance and go overseas? I've heard of ppl going overseas to get work done, but that's because it's cheaper to get work done there, not better. Usher has money so I just don't get it, really! Well I'm just happy to hear that she is doing better and I bet she and Usher she really didn't take the chance in the first place leaving behind all those kids not just the two by Usher she has like 3 others from a previous marriage.
Lastly Chris and Rhianna... it's a shame what's going on between them, not relationship wise because in time they'll get over it, but their careers. His career in particular. His name has been tarnished and dragged thru the mud. I hope that this didn't happen the way that is being said. From what I heard Rhi Rhi has a habit of being violent with guys, she and her brothers would fight all the time, one time resulting in smashing a glass vase against his head. Remember, she is a carribbean women, who are known to be a hot blooded people. I just don't believe that Chris just up and beat her, and then beat her like that, knowing what would happen. I think there was something else that happened and the media needs to back off. If not that poor boy's livelihood will go down the drain for the sake of coverage. SMDH
Tameka angers me. She is a hot ghetto mess. She has what, like 5 to 7 kids? She left her oldest ones to go and live up the hollywood lifestyle with Usher, then has 2 more boys. And if that doesnt satisfy her enough she makes Usher stop working and "spend time with family"..umm hypocrite maybe? didnt she leave her own family for a superstar? ..Then without Usher's knowledge she leaves there kids behind and goes down to Brazil to get LIPOSUCTION? only a couple months after having a BABY? Then she lies to the doctors about when she had the baby..only to go into cardiac arrest and never have the damn surgery anyway! What the hell was the point? What's wrong with just being a mother to your children? Women like her make me sick. So quick to take care of themselves and leave there kids behind..smh!
The Chrianna thing is getting so wack to me. No one has the real story but Everyone has an opinion. It sucks that he lost his endorsements over something that no one really knows what happened. Everyone says "he shouldnt have beat her like that" but we dont know what happened in that car. We havent seen Chris or any marks he had on him. For all we know, she could've been trying to go toe to toe with him until he eventually was fed up. I dont believe men should hit women..however i also dont believe women should hit men either.
